Jack Nicklaus, one of golf's preeminent course designers and the man Golf Inc. Magazine named as one of the "Most Powerful People in Golf" six years in a row, has carved a stunning mountain masterpiece from the natural terrain at Red Ledges.
The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Red Ledges features 18 holes, each with a stunning view of the Rocky Mountains. Nicklaus, a living legend of the game, designed the 7,653-yard course to incorporate and accentuate the existing landscape. The 200th U.S. golf course designed by his firm winds through cedar-lined canyons, along dramatic red rock cliffs and atop elevated ridges with stunning vistas of the surrounding Wasatch mountain range. "With the dramatic natural topography and views, the course we designed at Red Ledges is among the finest in the West," says Nicklaus. "You get a Signature golf course with 18 signature holes."
The site is also home to an exceptional practice facility with acres of bent grass tee surfaces and target greens to provide the same feel as the course. Golfers have the chance to sharpen their skills with access to large putting and chipping practice greens, as well as top instruction from our own PGA Professionals. In addition to these exceptional practice grounds, the course is adjacent to our very own Jim McLean Golf School, one of the nation's premier golf instruction academies.
The course has quickly captured public and media accolades. In December of 2009 GOLF Magazine rated the course as the #1 Best New Private Course in America. In 2010 and 2011, Red Ledges was named the Best Golf Course in Utah by Best of State Awards, Utah's premier recognition and awards program. It was also named a 2011 Golfweek's Best Residential Course. These ratings are a true testimonial to the special feeling Red Ledges offers golfers of all abilities. Playing the course is an unbelievable experience you won't want to miss. It will surely rate high among your personal favorites.
