Wasatch County & Twin Creeks Agreed to Withdrawal Protests

HEBER CITY - Red Ledges has been given the approval needed to proceed with its annexation application with Heber City. On Tuesday, February, 20, Wasatch County and the Twin Creeks Special Service District agreed to withdraw their protests filed against the annexation of Red Ledges, allowing the annexation request, which began the annexation process in December 2006, to continue.
Red Ledges owns property that is in both the city and county boundaries. Public meetings have been held since last year to work toward a mutually cooperative arrangement between Heber City, Wasatch County, Twin Creeks Special Service District and Red Ledges.
Key elements of this interlocal agreement include:
- Red Ledges will donate and maintain 15- acres for a public park- Red Ledges will build a bypass road along the eastern boundary of the park to help re-direct traffic off of Center Street.
- Twin Creeks Special Service District will provide all water and sewer services to Red Ledges. . 400 acres will be deeded to the County for perpetual open space.
- $1 million will be donated by Red Ledges to help renovate Center Street . Red Ledges will donate land for a new fire station.
- A trail system running through Red Ledges will connect to the County Trail System.
- A $4.5 million mitigation fee will be paid to Wasatch County.

"We now look forward to working with the city to become a positive and productive member of the community and to continue to set standards that will benefit the Heber area."
