Red Ledges Names Golf Club General Manager

HEBER VALLEY, Utah (April 28, 2009) – Red Ledges, a private golf and four-season recreational community located in the Heber Valley, has hired John Johnson as Golf Club General Manager. Johnson was appointed through Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, to manage the Red Ledges Golf Club.
Johnson joins Red Ledges with more than 18 years of combined professional golf and golf operations experience, most recently as the General Manager and Director of Golf for Shark’s Tooth Golf Club in Lake Powell, Florida. In this capacity he opened the golf course and golf shop in 2002 and managed 11,000 golf rounds and more than $400,000 merchandise annually. He was also responsible for overseeing the junior golf camps as well as the tennis, fitness and dining amenities. In addition, Johnson hosted the site for the US Open Qualifying from 2002 to 2008 and was largely responsible for attaining numerous awards for Shark’s Tooth Golf Club, including No. 2 Best New Private Course in America by Golf Digest.

Johnson’s additional experience includes serving as an Assistant Professional at the Medalist Golf Club in Florida and The Country Club at Castle Pines in Colorado. He also worked on the outside operations staff at the Old Marsh Golf Club in Florida. Johnson has been recognized by the PGA of America as a National Finalist for Merchandiser of the Year. Johnson attended University of Northern Colorado and is a member of the PGA of America.
