Summer Hiking Guide – Job Description

This is a seasonal position that is required to work through September/October. This includes working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Seeking knowledgeable, fun and dependable hiking guide to take private groups hiking in and around the Heber/Park City/Uinta Mountain areas. Guide should be familiar with numerous hikes in the area and be able to provide basic details prior to each hike including trail name, elevation and distance. Hikes will need to vary between easy to moderate and will take place 5 – 6 times each month with specified days and times. Guide will need to arrive to Red Ledges in Heber to meet the group and will have use of our van to transport the group to and from each hike. Must also have basic first aid/cpr training and a clean driving record. Pay based on experience and local knowledge. Please send cover letter and applicable resume.

Qualifications

  • • Must be energetic and outgoing
  • • Flexible schedule, including opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • • High School Diploma
  • • Customer experience preferred

Physical Requirements

This position operates during the spring, summer, and fall seasons in a mountain environment. We enjoy mostly beautiful weather, also accompanied by some hot as well as cold days. This position is active and can involve increased amounts of walking, bending, kneeling and may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. During less busy times there may be periods of extended standing.
