Building a home that marries the beauty of the exterior with the beauty of the interior

Renowned architect Steven Holl once said, “Architecture is bound to situation. And I feel like the site is a metaphysical link, a poetic link, to what a building can be.”

When you are designing a home it’s essential to start with the land. The land dictates the design of the home. When you listen to the land and understand what it dictates, you are able to create a home that truly works in harmony with its surroundings.

Located in Red Ledges, a mountain community near Park City, Utah, this four bedroom mountain modern home was carefully sited on the hillside to optimize unobstructed views of the famous Mt. Timpanogos. Thoughtful architectural design paired with hand-selected materials and the finest luxury finishes make this home a masterpiece.

The whole idea behind this home is to provide a seamless flow between stunning interior and exterior spaces. Custom lift-and-slide doors on both the main and upper levels allow the outdoor and indoor living spaces to flow harmoniously.

The key to our design was integrating views of the surrounding mountains into the functional flow of the home.  From nearly every room in the home, there is a masterpiece view.

Marrying the beauty of the outside with the inside of your home is all about capitalizing on the natural elements in the surrounding landscape. The theme for the interior of this home is organic. The chiseled white stone in the living room fireplace matches the masculine feel of the exterior stone while fitting the organic theme of the interiors with its clean, natural look.

From the beginning of the design process, the spectacular beauty of the lot dictated the design of the outdoor living space. Two thousand square feet of outdoor living area showcases direct views of Mt. Timpanogos and the Wasatch Mountain Range while the home’s placement on the lot and the U-shaped patio help the outdoor living space feel more private.
