A buoy in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Hawaii that can help us predict powder days? You heard that right! The Powder Buoy is one of the local’s favorite ways to track winter storms. When the buoy rises it “pops”, and then two weeks later Utah is hit with a storm. We aren’t meteorologists so we have no clue how this actually works, but click here to learn more from the expert who tracks the buoy patterns.
As far as we can tell, it’s going to be a great winter and the Red Ledges Ski Club is getting ready – their skis are tuned and they are ready to go. Stephanie Potempa, Red Ledges Activities Director, is getting everyone in skiing shape with her ski-conditioning class and organized hikes. They are ready to hit the slopes at nearby Sundance Resort and Deer Valley Resort, plus they have group trips planned to explore at Alta, Solitude, and Snowbasin. Watch the video below to learn more about the Red Ledges Ski Club, we filmed it at Deer Valley Resort last year.
This year things might look a little bit different, but that won’t stop us from doing what we love. Resorts have implemented safety restrictions to ensure that guests will be safe, so they can keep the resorts open. Click here to learn more about what the resorts will do differently this year. Stay safe and let’s start counting down the days for opening day!
