Register to Participate in the 2022 Paws for Life Golf Tournament
Red Ledges is scheduled to host its third annual golf event to benefit Paws for Life Utah—a volunteer-run organization dedicated to helping homeless dogs, cats, and other “at risk” shelter animals find homes. Each year, Paws for Life Utah saves around 1,300 animals.
The 2021 Paws for Life Golf Tournament raised $60,000. However, the current rate of owners surrendering their pets to animal shelters his higher than ever before. To keep pace with this current trend, Paws for Life Utah is setting their fundraising goal for the 2022 tournament to $80,000.
Although the annual golf tournament is in its third year, Red Ledges has a long history of supporting Paws for Life. This relationship of sponsorship and support between organizations is continuing into its eighth year—here are a few things that have taken place:
- Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Red Ledges hosted a long-standing Casino Party Gala.
- Red Ledges invites Paws for Life to co-sponsor a KPCW broadcast. In return for Red Ledges’ donation, Paws for Life earns on-air advertising on KPCW.
- The team spotlights one of the neighborhood’s dogs in each issue of The Ledger, a Red Ledges community magazine.
On August 30, 2022, this golf tournament will be played on Red Ledges’ award-winning Jack Nicholas Signature Golf Course. The format for the tournament will be a scrabble with no handicap along with a one putt rule to increase pace of play.
Although the tournament officially starts at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start, participants are welcome to come as early as 7:30 a.m. Before play starts, golfers may enjoy a light breakfast, look at auction, collect their goody bag, and warm up on the practice range or putting green.
While on the golf course, participants will be able to enjoy a variety of snacks and beverages. Additionally, golfers will be able to compete in various course contests for the chance to win different prizes.
Players may participate in a catered lunch when they return to the clubhouse from their golf round. The event’s presentations and awards will begin 30 minutes after the first group finishes. The silent auction will end 45 minutes after play—so hurry back to the Red Ledges Clubhouse.
If you are interested in being a sponsor in the event, please review the sponsorship packet and contact Betsy Townsend.
